The prolific Laura Hirschberg’s, new SUPERTOPIA, opens this weekend at Summit Rock in Central Park. And because theater is delightfully ephemeral, the show closes next weekend. That means you’ve got just a handful of chances to see this wonderful piece that’s been in development the past year and a half:
Preview performance August 10th at 6:30pm
Performances Friday–Sunday August 11th-20th at 6:30pm
Summit Rock, Central Park (B or C train to 81st St)
An original, heartfelt adventure for all ages, Supertopia centers around a group of remarkable, super-powered people in a new land where heroes aren’t unique, and no one is in need of saving. Accountable to no one but themselves, the nine settlers of Supertopia struggle with the responsibility of creating a better world and the impossible, incredible choices that come with great power. Everyday Inferno’s fifth annual Central Park show imagines the lush, isolated beauty of Summit Rock as an uncharted wilderness, full of possibility. Join us for an astonishing summer evening, as we build new worlds in our own shared backyard.
Enter the park at the 81st St / Central Park West Entrance. Take the first path you encounter on your left – this will bring you up a short winding hill, which will bring you directly to the performance space.
